Video Streaming for mobile phones |
|
|
Video streaming is more commonly associated with 3G mobile video, but it is also possible to stream video over 2.5G networks. The Yamgo mobile video player provides a demonstration of what is possible and works on Java and Symbian mobile devices. By installing a small software application on the device, videos can be streamed and protected from illegal copying (OMA DRM 1.0 security). Streaming circumvents the need to download the entire video clip before it can be decoded and played, and offers near real-time playing of content. However, this depends on the size and bit rate of the video and the user connection speed. The Yamgo video player is installed on the phone using WAP download and videos are ordered by Premium SMS on a pay-per-download or subscription model. If you live in the UK, you can download the Yamgo video player. Yamgo Video Player for Symbian phonesThe Yamgo mobile video player for Symbian
