Yamgo partners with X-treme Video

19 December 2006 - Oxford , UK , Yamgo, a leading extreme sports mobile TV company has partnered with X-treme Video, Europe 's leading extreme sports publisher. The partnership provides global rights to extreme sports videos in 20 different sports and long-term access to high-quality content for producing mobile video. The agreement broadens Yamgo's Mobile TV rights catalogue and secures Yamgo's position as a leading provider of interactive mobile TV content.

Yamgo will repurpose (edit for mobile devices, add music, optimise and encode) the content to create a compelling and high-quality Mobile TV experience, available through a publishing network of 75 mobile distribution channels, including some of the world's largest mobile phone operators like Orange, Vodafone and T-mobile. Furthermore, Yamgo looks to launch a number of pioneering interactive mobile TV channels.

Yamgo's CEO Ian Mullins stated, “Access to X-treme's adrenaline fuelled video library will allow Yamgo to offer even more exhilarating action sports content to mobile content consumers globally” . Franck Bywalski, founder of X-treme Video added, “The partnership with Yamgo allows us to increase revenue through mobile phone distribution and enables us to expand into new markets for digital entertainment”. Shaun Ellison, Yamgo's Operations Director, commented “Partnering with X-treme Video compliments our existing catalogue of global extreme sports content rights and enables Yamgo to extend programming in 20 categories and produce exclusive channels in new sports including Street Racing, Quadbike, Minibike, Snowmobile and Body Boarding”. Additional content categories provided by X-treme Video include Surfing, Skiing, Snowboarding, Mountain Bike, Skateboarding, Climbing, Kayaking, BASE Jumping, BMX and MotoX.

Yamgo are now creating mobile TV channels for 2.5G and 3G streaming, allowing anyone with a video-enabled mobile phone to access high-quality extreme sports TV anywhere, anytime and on any phone. The channels will consist of mini films, video clips, crashes, documentaries and ‘mobisodes' (mobile TV episodes) specifically optimised and made-for-mobile TV viewing. Plus, short 30 second video clips and MMS videos will be produced for downloading over lower-bandwidth 2G and 2.5G mobile networks.

Yamgo Launches Extreme Sports Mobile TV Channel
